Drinking Water

One should always stay hydrated as water can do wonders for bad breath. A dry mouth always lacks antibacterial saliva, which promotes the growth of bad-smelling bacteria, drying out overnight that leads to bad “morning breath.” There are people who would not like to drink plain water, in which case one can add lemon or raspberries and mint for a fresh taste.

Cleaning your tongue

Cleaning your tongue is an important part of brushing. The bacteria that cause bad breath are mostly found on the topside of the tongue. If one can see a white coating on their tongue, they should remove this with dirt with a tongue cleaner.

Brushing and flossing

One of the most obvious ways to help combat bad breath is to keep up on good hygiene. Brushing is mandatory, but the toothpaste one chooses will make a difference. Apart from the regular toothpaste, one should also brush with some peppermint or spearmint essential oils. Sometimes even after brushing, food gets stuck between the teeth, which promote bad breath. In this case, flossing can remove plaque and improve your gum health.

Intake of fresh herbs

Chewing on some fresh herbs is also helpful to freshen one’s breath minus the sugar that comes in a lot of gum. Instead of a minty sweet, one should opt for a sprig of mint. Parsley is also a good option. If someone is looking for something strong to remove bad breath, they should go for dried spice such as Clove, Fennel and Cardamom. These spices are sugar-free, strong and natural.

No smoking

Smoking is injurious to the overall health of our body. If someone is a regular smoker, it can lead to bad breath. Therefore, stay away from smoking.

Healthy diet

Restrictive diets should not be followed unless there is an actual medical reason for them. People who are on a low carb diet can face this problem of bad bread. As your body breaks down fats instead of carbs for energy it transforms into ketones. When these ketones are released in someone’s mouth, it is not great as they smell bad. Therefore, one should address a healthy rich carb diet which promotes fresh breath.
